A “Training on Funding Opportunities, Fundraising and Grant Application Writing” will take place on February 22-24, 2017, within the REC Framework Programme on Ukraine, and in particular within the LINK project (funded by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment) and the Ukraine LEAPs project (funded by the U.S. Department of State).
The main objectives of the training areto strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian municipalities to identify, develop and prepare investment projects for financing, and to communicate those projects to the external financing community. During the training course, participants will develop the skills and perspective necessary for assuming an active role in developing and implementing projects at both the local and regional level, and learn to overcome difficulties in developing and submitting project proposals. Representatives of the funding institutions will be invited to teach participants about the essential requirements for developing successful project proposals, and will also bring the participants up to date on current and coming calls for proposals.

The training course is designed especially for local government personnel. Thirty-five participants from 11 municipalities in Ukraine have been invited to participate in the training.
The training course will be implemented using interactive teaching methods, active participation in lectures, and the application of acquired knowledge in practice through examples and set tasks.
